| UDIS inspires internationally-minded, balanced learners who thrive and become active global citizens. |
Welcome to our weekly blog!
Important announcement: School is closed (Thursday)
We have received word that the authorities will cut power to the area from the Railway tracks up to the junction with Route 2021 from 9am to 5:30pm on Thursday which affects UDIS and a lot of the surrounding area. Unfortunately as many of our staff also live in this area we cannot conduct regular online lessons. As such, we have set this as a home learning day and will send work/activities to work on at home on this day. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and the unique circumstance we are under here.

Phonics
Maths
This week, the children have been completing their maths assessments. These assessments included number recognition, counting, shape, positional language and measure. Maths lessons will begin next week.
Unit of Inquiry (UOI)
Unit: Sharing the Planet
Central Idea: We connect with the natural environment through our curiosities and responsibilities.
The children knew that milk can come from a cow or goat, but most children did not know that we can have milks that are plant based. This week, the children did some research and took part in a milk taste test to decide if there was a plant based milk they liked.

Physical Education (PE)
This week the learners had a chance to play different games related to our motor skills of the week, which are jumping, hopping, and skipping. We played some jumping over the hurdles, skipping using hula hoops, and the hopping frog game. In addition, we started to learn more about balancing skills and why it is important to have physical balance and to be a balanced learner.
