Star of the Week

This week's star of the week is Jadon. He has been a careraptor and a reflectosaurus who has shown good listening skills and answered lots of questions. Well done Jadon!

World Soil Day/Father's Day (Thursday 2nd December)

Every year at UDIS, we celebrate World Soil Day and learn about the importance of soil in our world. World Soil Day is also Fathers Day here in Thailand to commemorate the former king and founder of World Soil Day, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Maths

This week, we have been doing a 'recap', which means where we go back and practice. We have recapped recognising and writing numbers 0 to 5 and finding one more or one less than a given number up to 10. Here are some pictures:

Talk4Writing and Unit of Inquiry

Our story focus has been 'The Grinch who stole Christmas' by Dr Seuss, which was requested by the children. When a topic or focus is requested by the children, we call this 'Learner Agency'. 

Our new unit is 'How we express ourselves' and our central idea is 'We explore and make sense of our world through the stories we tell.'

ในสัปดาห์นี้เราได้เรียนรู้พยัญชนะไทย คือ ว แหวน เราได้ฝึกอ่านคำศัพท์ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย ว แหวน ฝึกเขียน ว แหวนที่ถูกต้อง และยังได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวันสำคัญของไทย เช่น วันพ่อ ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ ๕ เดือนธันวาคมของทุกปี นอกจากนี้เรายังได้สนุกกับการระบายสีภาพวันพ่อด้วย

Library

Line Group

The Line Group is for general queries. If you have any concerns or questions you wish to ask privately, please either send a separate line message to Ms Oil. Alternatively, please send me an email. Ms Oil is available Monday to Friday, 7:30am until 4pm. 

*As we approach the Christmas break, please note that myself and Ms Oil will not be responding to emails or Line messages from Saturday 11th December 2021 until Monday 3rd January 2022. Parent/Teacher Conferences Term 1

Thank you to those of you who were able to meet with myself and Ms Oil for this term's Parent/Teacher Conference via Google Meet. It was lovely to see you all and be able to talk about your child's progress so far this academic year. We appreciate the thank yous and wonderful comments made to myself and Ms Oil. You are all a huge support and we look forward to continuing to work with you all in 2022.
