| UDIS inspires internationally-minded, balanced learners who thrive and become active global citizens. |
Welcome to our weekly blog!
We have chosen our class name! Say hello to:
This week, we have allowed the children to explore both the indoor and outdoor areas and develop friendships with each other. This time was to allow for your child to settle into the school routine at UDIS. Although we have had a few tears, all the children have been very brave. Well done K2! We are very proud of you.
The children have helped Ms.Patty to create our airport role play area with our very own aeroplane as part of our first Unit of Inquiry (UOI) - Who We Are. Next week in our UOI lessons, we will start looking at routines and the routine we have when we go on holiday. This is to link in with the concept of routines and that routines do not just happen at school.
Here are some photographs from our first week at school:
Phonics
Next week we will begin our phonics lessons using the phonics programme Jolly Phonics. Our first sound is going to be 's', which we will focus on all week. On Friday, we will be having a superhero party in the afternoon. Your child can come to school for the day dressed as their favourite superhero and bring in healthy snacks for our superhero party. If you have any questions regarding this, please send me an email.
Specialists lessons
The children have enjoyed their specialist lessons this week. The specialist teachers your child will be taught by are:

Library
Our Library day is Monday. Next week, the children will be choosing books to bring home. They can be changed every Monday.
Tapestry
All parents should now have access to Tapestry, our online journal platform. Please update the 'All About Me' section for your child. The first observation release date is Friday 21st August 2020. If you have any questions about Tapestry, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Ms.Phibz.
Line Group
All parents should now have access to the K2 Line Group. If you haven't yet, please email me and I can help you set this up. Please note - we will be unable to reply to messages during the school morning and on evenings and weekends. If you have any questions which are of importance, please send an email to myself and Ms.Patty. We will always do our best to get in contact with you as soon as we can.
